Arriving in the UK

Most students arrive at one of four major London airports and travel by train, tube or bus. Alternatively, you can book airport transfer or use a taxi. All airports are quite far from the city centre. Please follow our instructions to get to central London or ask help desk at an airport.

 

Heathrow Airport

The easiest and cheapest option is The Underground, also called The Tube. Heathrow has 2 underground stations, depending on your terminal.

  • Heathrow underground stations are on the Piccadilly Line (dark blue) and the journey takes around 40 minutes
  • This journey costs about £6.00 (single ticket)
  • Trains run every 5 minutes from 6am -12am daily

 

Stansted Airport

There is a train station at Stansted Airport

  • The Stansted Express train takes 45 minutes to reach London Liverpool Station
  • A single journey costs about £15.00
  • Trains run from 6am -10:30pm. From 10:30pm -12:00pm there is a Express bus service to London Liverpool Station

 

Gatwick Airport

There is a National Rail station located at Gatwick Airport

  • The Gatwick Express train takes 30 minutes to reach Victoria Station
  • A single journey costs about £11.00. Trains run from 5:30am – 12:00am

 

Luton Airport

There is a National Rail station located at Luton Airport

  • The Thameslink train takes 30 minutes to reach Kings Cross Station
  • A single journey costs about £10.00
  • Trains run from 5:30am – 12:00am

 

TAXIS AND MINI CABS

If we arranged a taxi pick-up, please be aware that drivers wait for two hours only after your given arrival time. The driver will be carrying a board with your name on it. Please do not pay the driver.

If you have not booked a taxi with us please make sure that you go in a licensed taxi.
